Zoom

Imagine if you could zoom in on the future – if you could see what was on the other side of this pandemic – if you could see the construct of the ‘new normal’.

Well guess what…. you can’t.

Of course we can paint a multitude of different scenarios of which at least one somewhat resemble the ‘new normal’ when we look back in hindsight.  But to know exactly how interactions, operations and supply chains will behave would require a crystal ball and I don’t have one – I don’t know about you?

But what I do know is that people’s needs won’t change.  The need for safety, for sustenance, for connection, for satisfaction.   Ensuring that you have the end game in sight – a vision of meeting consumer needs - will bring focus to developing offers that drive preference for your products and services.

In order to meet this vision you don’t need to be a fortune teller, you need the mind set of a boy/girl scout.

The Scout motto – be prepared - means that you are always ready to do what is necessary to help others… always ready, willing, and able to do what is necessary in any situation that comes along.

Perhaps now is time to take stock of your badges – to identify your core strengths, to build on the capabilities that you have, and to address any gaps.

Without a doubt, the lessons that we have learned in the last 6 months have been profound.  Never before have we had to act with such urgency, purpose, and agility. However these behaviours should not be pandemic specific – they are how we should always be operating – continuously leveraging and growing our strengths to meet new and evolving consumer needs.  Perhaps it took the pandemic to zoom in on what really matters.

I have a passion for insight and innovation to drive business success.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you’d like to discuss your future… sans crystal ball.
